GCIE001- Philosophy of IB Curriculum2cps
This course will introduce the learner to the history, development, challenges of IB in the world and China, help them understand the philosophy of IB Curriculum by learning and discussing the mission, the learner profile of IB in this globalized world and comparing IBDP with other curriculum philosophies. The learners will improve their critical thinking skills, inter-cultural skills and professional development skills.
GCIE002-IB Learning, Teaching and Assessment2cps
In this course, the trainees can understand the approaches to learning and the pedagogical principles of IBDP and the underlying learning and teaching theories; analyze and assess classroom activities on the basis of ATL and teaching principles framework; Demonstrate the competencies of IBDP Unit and lesson planning with ATL in mind and in consistent with IBDP teaching principles.
GCIE003- Global Perspectives on IB
This course offers a series of lectures to be delivered by guest lecturers including IB school leaders, IB workshop leaders, experienced IBDP examiners, IB coordinators and consultants, and other professionals with IB experience. The lectures focus on how IB works in practice, such as the alignment of curriculum, assessment and instruction strategies,teaching and learning strategies to address learner diversity.
GCIE010-Teaching Practicum4 cps
Teaching practicum aims to enable the learners to apply what they learn in practice by observing, reflect on and participate in the IB teaching and learning process. It helps the learners familiarize themselves with teaching and learning in an IB context. The learners are required to take 6-week teaching practicum in IB world schools in Semester II. Each learner will be assigned a professional tutor/mentor who is an experienced IB practitioner by the practicum school.

GCIE004-Second Language Acquisitionand Development2cps
This course introduces students to the field of second language acquisition (SLA), which as a discipline focuses on the many problems associated to three general questions: (1) How do humans learn additional languages after they have learned their first?;(2) What factors contribute to the variability observed in rates and outcomes of second language learning?;(3) What does it take to attain advanced language and literacy competencies in a language other than the mother tongue?
GCIE005- Evaluation and Design of TCSOL Material for IBDP2cps
This course covers the techniques and principles for evaluating materials. It trains students to adapt materials in a variety of ways and to devise texts and tasks to supplement published materials, in the light of current research in evaluation and design of TCSOL materials. It examines ways of involving learners in materials evaluation and design.
GCIE006- Language and Literature Pedagogy2cps
This course basically covers two fields of knowledge: firstly, it trains the students to practice an in-depth, question-oriented reading of literary texts of different styles and genres. Secondly, it enables the students to devise and guide a literary discussion in a trans-lingual classroom.
GCIE007- IB Math English2cps
This course aims at providing a systematic training on the students’ ability of reading and writing, with a focus on academic reading and writing.

This course provides a systematic training on math material of IBDP, several lectures on a wide range of researches in elementary mathematics will be given as well as some math softwares are experimented during the course.
